Hi everyone! My name is Kristin and I'm hoping to share with you some photos, information, tips, recommendations and stories from my travels. I'm a late bloomer when it comes to travel and didn't take my first international trip until I graduated college in 2006. But ever since then, as with so many of us who travel, it's now in my blood and something I will do as much and as often as possible.
I recently moved from Seattle, Washington to Cork, Ireland to complete a master's degree and I lived there from August 2016 - September 2018. While living abroad, I did some traveling in Europe, and have lots of stories and recommendations to share! Most of my travel is done solo, and on a budget- but I hope to share with you all that I have learned!
For the first year in Cork I lived sort of in the burbs/outskirts of the city that was about a 30 minute bus ride into town. For the final year I lived directly in the city centre and really got to know the city itself even better.
(I lived right at the top of that brick building on the left!)
I also completed a masters degree at University College Cork, and was lucky enough to work part time for Paddywagon tours while going to school. Once I finished, I worked in customer service at Zazzle, an american based company with a headquarters in Cork- and traveled as much as I could possibly afford. I wish I could have stayed the additional year my work visa would have allowed for (you can work up to two years after completing a masters degree) - but unfortunately the job market was too difficult, and I decided to return to the US in September 2018.

Most of what I will share here is from memory as I look back at my travels and adventures! Some of the places I visited and will share with you are:
London; Edinburgh; Brussels and many day trips to nearby Belgium towns; Amsterdam and quite a few other places in the Netherlands; Rome and the Amalfi coast; Prague; an 18 day road trip through southwest Poland, Slovakia, Budapest in Hungary, Austria, and Bavaria in Germany; and a road trip through southwest England, including 12 days in the Cotswolds.

Thanks in advance for reading, and leaving any comments! I'd love to hear about your experiences abroad, and any tips and tricks of your own!
Also, as it may take me a little while to get this really up and running, in the mean time you can find more posts on my facebook pages here:
